Sam Doria

Autobiography of Sam Gabriel R. Doria

Sam Gabriel R. Doria is my name. I am part of the Humanities and Social Sciences strand in Kingfisher School of Business and Finance. I am 16 years old and was born in San Narciso, Zambales, on the 19th of January 2009, to my parents, Samson R. Doria and Chona R. Doria. I have no single favorite music or food, not because I dislike them, but because what I enjoy depends on my mood and situation. For example, I sometimes listen to Japanese pop when I feel down, or metal music when I need focus while studying.

Growing up, I would describe myself as a curious child. I asked too many questions, sometimes to the annoyance of adults around me, but this curiosity is what shaped the way I see the world today. My childhood was not perfect, but it was full of small moments that guided me toward who I am becoming. My parents, through their quiet ways, taught me the values of hard work and humility. From them, I learned that life is not about always having what you want, but about making the most of what is given to you.

School has been an important part of my journey. Like many students, I experienced both struggles and joys in my education. I remember times when I felt discouraged, when lessons felt too difficult or when I questioned myself, but I also remember the times I succeeded, such as passing challenging tests or simply finishing a school project I worked hard on. These experiences taught me perseverance. Choosing the HUMSS strand is a reflection of who I am and what I want to explore. I enjoy learning about people, society, and the human experience. This strand helps me strengthen my communication, critical thinking, and creativity—skills that I know will be useful no matter where life takes me.

As for my hobbies, they have honestly changed over the years. At present, I dabble in playing the guitar, filming, and even trying music-making. Most of my hobbies revolve around art. I have always admired different forms of art because I see it as a medium for shared human experiences. Whether through painting, films, or music, art has a way of expressing what words sometimes cannot. Even if I am not yet skilled, I believe that art will always have a special place in my heart. It is where I find comfort and meaning.

When people ask me what kind of person I am, I would say that I am still figuring it out. I am not perfect, but I try to be genuine. I value respect and honesty, and I try to treat others the way I want to be treated. I may not always be outspoken, but I like to listen and observe, because I believe we can learn from everyone we meet.

In conclusion, my life so far has been a journey of discovery. From a curious child in San Narciso to a teenager in HUMSS exploring art and creativity, every experience has shaped me. I may not know exactly what the future holds, but I know that I will continue learning, creating, and striving to live a life that reflects who I am
